Emilie Cope brings over 10 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry with a broad knowledge of property management, asset management, leasing and corporate real estate in Southern California. As Vice President at EdgeCore Real Estate Group, Ms. Cope’s primary focus is within Leasing and Marketing Services. Her background in leasing at Maguire Properties (now MPG Office Trust) provides her with a value add ownership mentality. From tenant selection and effective space planning to the financial structure of a deal, each transaction is uniquely formulated to meet and exceed a particular asset’s goals. Her accomplishments include completing over 75 transactions totaling over 600,000 square feet, of which 400,000 square feet was new absorption. The net revenue resulting in Ms. Cope’s efforts was in excess of $36,000,000.
Ms. Cope began her career in commercial property management, beginning with third party work in Los Angeles. There she worked to add value to distressed assets by way of reducing operating costs, securing tenancy, and assisting with the design and re-imaging of common areas, ultimately increasing occupancy. From there, Ms. Cope joined The Irvine Company in Orange County where she managed a portfolio of office space in excess of 2 million square feet and consisting of industrial, flex and class “A” office buildings, including a 600,000 square foot ground up development in Irvine.
Most recently, Ms. Cope was the Global Leasing Manager at Broadcom Corporation overseeing a real estate portfolio of 3.5 million square feet. Using her expertise in commercial real estate, she validated leasing requirements with occupancy and growth planning, strategically selected new sites, and negotiated aggressive terms with the ultimate lease flexibility. In addition to securing leases at Broadcom’s main campuses in Northern and Southern California, Ms. Cope negotiated international leases in countries such as China, India, Israel, Canada, and Australia. Traveling to many of these places, Ms. Cope had hands on real estate experience within these international markets.
Ms. Cope earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Pepperdine University. She is an active member in NAIOP and holds a position on the Board of Directors with the So-Cal Chapter of Corenet.
